Questions people ask
How do I add fractions with different denominators?
Turn them into fractions with the same bottom number first. For 1/2 + 1/3, both become sixths: 3/6 + 2/6 = 5/6.
How do I divide fractions?
Flip the second fraction upside down and multiply. 3/4 ÷ 1/2 = 3/4 × 2/1 = 6/4, which simplifies to 3/2 or 1 1/2.
How do I type a mixed number?
Put a space between the whole number and the fraction, like 2 3/4. For a negative mixed number, put the minus sign first: -2 3/4.
