About XYCalc

What it is

Every calculator does one job and explains itself: you get the answer, the formula behind it, a worked example, and answers to the questions people usually ask. There are no accounts, no sign-ups and nothing to download.

XYCalc is built UK-first. Money amounts show in pounds, tax and stamp duty use the current UK rules, and measurements work in metric or imperial. If you're elsewhere, choose your country at the top of any page and amounts, units and number formats switch to match.

How accurate is it?

Each calculator is checked against known answers before it goes live, and rates and rules that change, such as income tax bands and stamp duty, are taken from official sources and updated when they change.

Even so, the results are estimates for planning and everyday use. They are not financial, tax, legal, medical or engineering advice. For anything important, check the figures with a qualified professional or your own paperwork.

Why it's free

XYCalc is independent and free to use. It is paid for by advertising, which is kept separate from the calculators and never changes a result.
